Stork Drop

Well - we have yet another development! We have signed up to be part of the 'Stork Drop' program. This means that at ANY MINUTE we could get a call. Our adoption agency uses Stork Drop as a means to match families (us) to birth mothers who are actively in labor or have just given birth. If we get the Stork Drop call, we have ONE HOUR to make a decision. This is SO exciting!!

We know there are so many things we need when expecting a baby, and there are a lot of differing schools of thought about baby showers and adoption. Amy and I have read a LOT of blogs, articles, posts, and such about the various ways that adoptive families handle the prep, the planning, and celebration of a new baby into an adoptive family; and we've talked about it between the two of us even more.

We've decided that we are going to ask friends and families to help us 'Pack a Bag' so that when we get the call, we will have all the most immediate essentials on hand so we are ready to jump on a plane to meet our tiny human. Once we are home with him/her we want to host a more traditional baby shower that we will call a 'Meet the Baby' party.

So guess what?! We need to pack a bag! We could be as close as a day away from jumping on a plane to go meet our baby. Whether it's this week or next year, that bag needs to be packed, and we would love your help packing it! We created an Amazon Wishlist for our 'Pack a Bag' goodies.
