Plane. Hospital. Hotel....

Monday.... what a Monday it was.

Monday. We got on that plane and headed to O'Hare. We had our layover in Laguardia (my mom wondering why were in Laguardia and not O'Hare- slight miscommunication regarding the layover). Birth mom sent us a safe travel text and we let her know when we landed in O'Hare. We got our bags, rented a car and off we were to see what the day had in store for us.

We met birth mom in the lobby of the massive hospital for her to escort us up to the NICU for the G-Tube training. We met birth dad in baby girl's room. We saw baby girl - so chill in her crib as we all learned from the technician. We practiced pushing all the buttons and tried to take in the information .... with so many questions swirling.

The adoption agency provided us with names of lawyers and we hired the first one that answered the phone - she is awesome. We also were introduced to our assigned case manager from our agency to start all the coordinating pieces (and there are a lot!).

We left the NICU (as we already broke the rules in having 4 of us in baby girls room) and headed to find our hotel... well and a nap- we needed sleep.

We booked to stay at the Embassy Suites because we knew we could get a larger room, get a good breakfast, and a hotel bar. Oh that hotel bar.... we met a fun bartender and patrons along the way at that small bar. As with any bar, small talk was shared and there was a lot of well wishes for us, baby girl, and the birth family. We were headed to the next day - Tuesday to see what that would bring.
